Falcon women use depth to defeat Beloit College

BELOIT, Wis.- Concordia Wisconsin trailed 9-2 in the early going and the Falcons did not take their first lead until Tiffany Hendrickson's (Sr./ Ingleside, Ill.) jumper made it 23-22 CUW with 3:22 left in the half before eventually handing Beloit a 77-62 defeat.

Stacey Brunner-Jones' cagers upped their cushion to 35-28 at the break, but saw Beloit whittle the margin to 45-42 with 13:44 left in the contest.  All it took was one strategic timeout before the Falcons set sail on an impressive 23-9 run over the next seven minutes to leave no doubt as to the outcome.

Upper classmen Katie Luethe (Jr./ Oshkosh, Wis.) and Camille Parsons (Jr./ Urbana, Ill.) led the Concordia scoring with 23 and 15 points respectively, but multiple CUW freshmen played prominent roles, shooting a collective 9-11 from the field.

Freshman guard Allison Paluchniak (Oostburg, Wis.) connected on 3 of 4 shots from the floor and an additional 3-4 from the charity stripe while adding four steals and the same number of rebounds.

First year teammate Mariah Weddle (Brown Deer, Wis.) hit all four of her shots and added a steal and a block to her first game resume.

CUW's defense was clearly a difference maker as the Falcons forced 28 turnovers while commiting only ten.  Luethe added five rebounds, three steals, and a pair of assists to her opening game resume.

Brunner-Jones' team has a quick turnaround, hosting Carroll in another non conference test on Monday evening at 7:00pm in the Buuck Fieldhouse.
