CUW women dominate Concordia Chicago 72-51

SEWARD, Nebraska-   After seeing their seven game winning streak ended yesterday, the Concordia Wisconsin women came back with a vengeance to bury CU-Chicago in this afternoon's consolation game at the CIT in Seward, Nebraska.

The Falcons (14-6) regained their defensive edge on this day, holding the Cougars to 38% shooting and forcing 19 turnovers while winning the rebound battle 42-32.

Stacey Brunner-Jones' team ran to a 37-24 halftime edge on the strength of both the "D" and the offensive prowess of Katie Luethe (Jr./ Oshkosh, Wis.) whoi managed 14 of her game-high 22 points prior to the break. 

Megan Coenen (Fr./ Pulaski, Wis.) added a dozen inside points for the Falcons and, as is often the case, six other CUW players scored between four and eight. 

CUW also feasted at the line with a 21-27 performance.  Guard Anna Butler (Jr./ Kewaskum, Wis.) gobbled up an impressive 11 rebounds herself and Brittany Zietlow dished out eight assists.

Krystyna Rickett topped CU-C with 16 points and Jessica Genke added 11. 

The first place Falcons have an important NAC contest on Tuesday when they travel to Maranatha.
