Men’s Hockey Lands 10 NCHA All-Academic Selections

DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association announced the members of the 2021-22 men's NCHA All-Academic Team on Tuesday.

The NCHA broke a league record again this season with 242 student-athletes receiving the honor on the men's and women's side. This year, 30 student-athletes received the honor for the third tiem on the men's side.

The CUW men's hockey team landed 10 selections onto the all-academic team.

In order to qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore status academically and have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.

The senior duo of Bryce Fisk (Brown Deer, Wis.) and Salvatore Scalise (Calgary, Alta.) both received the honor for the third time in their careers. Scalise claimed the honor twice at Marian.

Eight Falcons are making their first appearance on the team in sophomore Bryson Cecconi (Powell River, B.C.), junior Michael Fradette (Victoria, B.C.), sophomore Jordan Guiney (Victoria, B.C.), sophomore Sean Hofstetter (Columbia, Ill.), sophomore Liam McGarva (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.), sophomore Riley Morgan (Scottsdale, Ariz.), sophomore Jacob Shankar (Johnstown, Ont.) and junior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.).

The Falcons improved upon last season's nine selections and have landed 10 or more honorees five of the last six seasons.
