GENEVA, Ill. – The CUW men's hockey team fell short in a non-conference matchup at Aurora on Thursday night. The Spartans secured an 8-1 victory to improve to 3-0-0 on the young season and send CUW to 1-2-0.
The Spartans took an early with three goals in the first and second periods.
Aurora added two more goals in the third period.
Senior Jacob Palmerio (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) tapped in a rebound off a shot from sophomore Spencer Milne (Edmonton, Alta.) with five seconds left off a secondary assist to junior Michael Fradette (Victoria, B.C.).
The Spartans held an 89-42 advantage in shots on Thursday. Senior Luc Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) led CUW with nine shots.
Sophomore Riley Morgan (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led all Concordia goalies with 16 saves.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Nov. 12, when they open NCHA play at Trine.
