MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team took on the Lawrence Vikings in a rematch of Friday night's overtime loss.
The first period saw two goals from the Vikings.
The Falcons netted their first goal of the matchup in the 13th minute of play with a goal off the stick of freshman Justin Schwartzmiller (Fond Du Lac, Wis.) after a shot wide left.
Schwartzmiller was assisted by senior Cory Dennis (Madison, Wis.).
The Falcons tied up the game at two with a goal from sophomore Jacob Shankar (Johnstown, Ont.) and helpers from freshman Joshua Maine (Tecumseh, Ont.) and sophomore Liam McGarva (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.).
The Vikings scored two goals to open the third period and take the 4-2 lead.
The Falcons worked to mount a comeback with a goal in the 18th minute of the third period off the stick of junior Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) with assists from Maine and Schwartzmiller.
The Falcons fell short of a comeback with a final score of 3-4.
The flock turns its attention to a makeup game with Aurora on Wednesday.
