Men's Basketball to face UW-Platteville in NCAA Tournament

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Men's Basketball program learned via the NCAA.com selection show that they'll compete at and against UW-Platteville on Friday inside Williams Fieldhouse.

The Falcons earned the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament after winning the NACC Tournament on Saturday via an 80-75 overtime victory over MSOE. Concordia Wisconsin has a 19-9 overall record and has won eight of 10 games in the month of February.

Junior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) is the team's leader in scoring at 19.5 points per game and scored a program and NACC Tournament record of 45 points on 19-of-26 shooting (five 3-pointers) on Thursday. Sophomore Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) runs the offense and has the program's single-season record with 196 assists, which also ranks third in the country. Sophomore Brandon Keller is averaging 11.9 points on 58.0 percent and 7.4 rebounds per contest. Junior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) leads the Falcons with 2.3 steals per contest.

The Falcons are making their third trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament since the 2010-11 season.

UW-Platteville is ranked sixth in the country (D3Hoops.com) and is first the Central Region in the latest NCAA.com regional rankings. The Pioneers won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular-season title with a 12-2 record. They lost in the WIAC Tournament semifinals via a 78-74 decision to UW-Eau Claire. UW-Platteville began the year with a 10-game winning streak and has been ranked Top-10 nationally the past three weeks and seven times this season.

Carter Voelker leads the Pioneers at 15.5 points per game and is one of four players in double-figures. He also has a team-best 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest.
