Men's Basketball edges Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Concordia Wisconsin held on for a 79-78 NACC victory over Rockford on Saturday after overcoming a one-point deficit with 1:26 to play in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jordan Johnson made a pair of free throws with 13 seconds to play to push the Falcons lead to four points, but still a one-possession contest, albeit a difficult one. Rockford missed a long ball with eight seconds to go prior Concordia Wisconsin missing a pair of free throws with four seconds on the clock. The Regents drained a 3-pointer with a second to play, but it was too late.
- Concordia Wisconsin shot 50 percent from the field, but committed a season-high 27 turnovers (23 by the starting five). They did end with a 35-28 rebounding advantage and scored 38 points in the paint. While the visitors didn't play the cleanest game, neither did Rockford with 26 turnovers of its own.
- The Falcons were led by Johnson (junior, Cedarburg, Wis.) who had 19 points. Junior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) had 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and stole a career-best six passes. Sophomore Brandon Keller had 14 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore Jared Jurss dished out seven assists. Senior Olalekan George (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored 10 points and stole three passes. Junior Alex Antonie (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) scored 10 points in 12 minutes off the bench.
- Rockford was led by Jamar Rivera who had a game-high 26 points on 12-of-14 shooting. Brandon Emerick scored 17 points (five 3-pointers), assisted on five field goals and stole eight passes.
