Falcons fall in season-opener to UW-Lacrosse

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- UW-La Crosse's offense was in high gear from the opening tipoff and built a double-digit lead over Concordia Wisconsin en route to a 95-75 decision on Friday night. The Falcons shot 45.3 percent from the field, but the Eagles made 57.1 percent of their attempts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin turned the ball over twice and made just 3-of-8 from the field during the first six minutes and 45 seconds and on the other end of the court UW-La Crosse went 7-for-12, which included five 3-pointers. The Eagles hot offense continued, as they extended their lead to a 23-point advantage in the first half.
- The Falcons had trouble making the long ball, but went hard to the bucket and made 25-of-34 free throws. They were 19-of-25 at the charity stripe in the second half alone.
- Junior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored a team-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting and pulled down six rebounds. Sophomore Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and stole three passes.
- UW-La crosse was led by Ethan Anderson who had 25 points, six rebounds and three assists. Luke Norcia also had 12 points, five rebounds and seven assists. The Eagles ended the game with 15 3-pointers.
