Falcons use late scoring run to defeat Spartans

AURORA, Ill. -- Leading by three with under a minute to play, Jared Jurss found Joey Zietlow twice on passes that threaded the needle for layups to put the dagger in Aurora and give Concordia Wisconsin an eventual 82-75.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora led by two points, 73-71, with 2:07 to play in the game before Concordia Wisconsin finished the game with an 11-2 scoring run to put itself in a three-way tie for first place in the NACC standings.
- The Falcons lead hovered around double-figures for the first 10 minutes of the second half until the Spartans slowly worked themselves back into the contest. Will Hrubes led four players with at least six points in the second half for the hosts.
- Concordia Wisconsin made a season-high-tying eight 3-pointers and scored 10 points on fast break opportunities.
- Zietlow (junior, Oak Creek, Wis.) had a career-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Sophomore Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while also stealing two passes.
- Senior Olalekan George (Milwaukee, Wis.) had 12 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench, and freshman Grant Karsten (Decatur, Ill.) tallied 11 points, which included three 3-pointers.
- Aurora was led by Hrbue who had 16 points, while Bailey Vance recorded 14 points and 15 rebounds.

- Concordia Wisconsin returns to the court on Tuesday with a 7 pm NACC contest at home inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
