Highland House donates $50,000 to CUW Athletic Department
MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Department of Athletics received a significant donation of $50,000 on Tuesday from Highland House Restaurant to help fund a new batting cage facility.
"We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Highland House," Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill said. "The Highland House has been an important contributor in our endeavor to build a batting cage facility on campus. We hope Tom and Dan Demarsh's donation will spark more interest in the community."
The batting cage facility will provide the baseball and softball teams at CUW with an area to advance their skills in the inclement Wisconsin weather. The new facility will feature two 14x60 batting cages, storage and possibly more area for hitting.
Highland House owner Tom and Dan Demarsh are longtime supporters of Falcons athletics, as one of the restaurant's locations is hundreds of yards from the campus across I-43. The Highland House has been in business for 30 years.
The Highland House is a blend of California, Caribbean and Mexican influences in both design and menu. It's a casual and fun atmosphere with a colorful and unique décor. Voted as one Milwaukee's best places for a margarita, it has great food at a great price. From appetizers to salads, sandwiches, pasta and dinner entrées, there is something for everyone.
