Burgert named NACC Position Player of the Week
WAUKESHA, Wis. – Senior Beau Burgert drove in nine runs over four games played last week, including hitting a game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the ninth against Dominican University, and for his efforts was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Position Player of the Week. The league announced its weekly honors Monday for the events of March 24-30.
Burgert (Oshkosh, Wis.) hit .533 last week and had at least two hits in three of four games played. The senior, who was the designated hitter three times and starting catcher once, drove in five in the 6-5 win over Dominican. He also had a 3-for-4, three-RBI game against Williams College on the Falcons spring trip in Arizona.
Burgert and the Falcons played Monday and were defeated twice by No. 10 Concordia University Chicago. He recorded two hits in each game, continuing his strong start.
The Falcons will return to action Wednesday when they host St. Norbert College in a non-conference game. CUW and SNC will start at 3 p.m. at Kapco Park.
