Morgan, Moriarty lead Chinooks to Northwoods League championship

MEQUON, Wis. – One week after being named the Northwoods League Manager and Coach of the Year, Eddy Morgan and Mark Moriarty helped the Lakeshore Chinooks complete a memorable season with a league championship.

The Chinooks finished off the 2014 season with a 3-0 win at Kapco Park Friday, August 16 over the Mankato MoonDogs. The win gave Lakeshore a 2-0 series win over the MoonDogs, the first of those coming Thursday at Mankato, a 5-4, 13-inning victory for the Chinooks.

Morgan is in year two as the manager of the Chinooks. He spent the team's inaugural season of 2012 as the top assistant coach before taking over prior to last season. He is also the head coach of the Concordia University Wisconsin Baseball program, recently leading the Falcons to a 23-win season this past spring.

Moriarty is Morgan's lead assistant for both the Falcons in the spring and the Chinooks in the summer. He coaches the team's pitchers as Lakeshore led the Northwoods League in ERA this past season.
