MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW ACHA hockey team faced off in a senior day matchup on Saturday with the Adrian Bulldogs.
The Falcons honored their two seniors Ethan Natzke Ballwin, Mo.) and Gabriel D'Asto (Endeavor, Wis.) for all their hard work and dedication to the Falcons ACHA hockey program.
The Bulldogs struck first with a goal just over a minute in to take the 1-0 lead.
The Falcons tied it up going into the second period with a power-play goal from junior Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.) and assists from freshman Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) and sophomore Steven Delikat (Oak Creek, Wis.).
The Falcons took the 2-1 lead with four minutes left in the second period off the stick of junior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.). He was assisted by the brother duo of Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.).
The Bulldogs tied up the game with three minutes left in the second period.
The Falcons went into the third period with a 3-2 lead after a goal from Cassel and another assist from Garrett Wilderman. This goal came with 25 seconds left in the period.
It was all Falcons all day in the third period with an empty-net goal from Scott Gregor to send the Bulldogs home packing with a 4-2 final score.
The Falcons look to sweep the weekend with a matchup at Adrian on Sunday.
