FORT MEYERS, Fla. – The CUW ACHA hockey team finished a weekend stint in Florida where they took on the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.
The Falcons were able to find the net twice on the weekend against a strong defensive set with the Eagles.
The Eagles struck first in the sixth minute of the second period.
The Falcons tied it up in the 11th minute with a goal from junior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.) with an assist from sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.).
That would close the book on the Falcon scoring. The Eagles went on to score the winning goal in the 12th minute and two more insurance goals in the third period.
Junior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) registered a blistering 39 saves in the outing to bring his weekend total to 72.
The Falcons continue the away portion of their schedule as they take on Marian for their first conference matchup on Friday night.
