MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW ACHA team took on the Aurora Spartans in the first of a home and home weekend.

The Falcons started from behind with Aurora netting two goals in the first period with one 20 seconds into the game.

The flock wouldn't be shut out in the first period with a goal in the 17th minute off the stick of junior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.). He was assisted by his brother and fellow junior Matt Gregor (Ashland Wis.).

The game went into the second period with a score of 2-1 in favor of the Spartans.

The Spartans hopped out to a quick 5-1 lead early in the second period with three unanswered in the first ten minutes.

The Falcons stormed back with four of their own to tie the game up at five with 1:43 left in the second period.

The first second-period goal from the Falcons was scored by sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) with an assist from freshman Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.)

Two minutes later, freshman Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) connected with junior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) on the power-play for the Falcons' second goal of the period.

A third goal for the Falcons came another two minutes later off the stick of junior Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.). Doyle was assisted by junior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) and Easton Williams.

Senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) didn't want to be left out of the goal party with a 1:43 goal off the feed from Scott Gregor.

The Spartans responded 48 seconds later with their sixth goal of the afternoon.

In a last-ditch effort for the second period, the Falcons pulled a reverse of their fifth goal with Scott Gregor burying the puck in the net off the feed from Wyatt Wilderman with one second remaining in the period. Both of the Gregor-Wilderman goals were on the power-play.

The game went into the third period tied at six.

The third period saw a lot of scoring opportunities, but either team was able to find the back of the net and the matchup went into overtime.

With 3:53 left in the overtime period, the Falcons were able to bury their seventh into the back of the net off the stick of Trenton Sherman with an assist from Easton Williams.

A lot of Falcons wanted to get in on the scoring action at Aurora with six different Falcons recording goals on the afternoon.

Both Scott Gregor and Easton Williams had a team-high three points.

The Falcons look to complete the weekend sweep tomorrow night inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.
