ACHA Hockey Sweeps Away DePaul

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW ACHA men's hockey team brought out the brooms on Saturday afternoon when the Falcons bashed the Blue Demons with a 6-4 victory. The Falcons improve to 12-10-1 on the season with the victory.

DePaul struck first on Saturday with a power-play goal on a short-angled top-shelf goal.

Senior Ethan Natzke (Ballwin, Mo.) leveled the game with a back-handed shot off his own rebound after a long pass from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.).

Senior Easton Williams gave the Falcons the lead with a steal and put away the goal. Freshman Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) was credited with an assist.

Williams struck again in the second period as he landed a long shot right before the power play expired from tic-tac-toe passes from junior Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.) and freshman Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.).

Garrett Wilderman also scored a second-period power-play goal from the top of the zone that smashed the Gatorade bottle on the top of the net, off assists from Wyatt Wilderman and sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.).

The Blue Demons cut into the lead with a goal to end the second period.

John Swiatek scored off a defender to start the third-period scoring.

DePaul added a short-handed goal to cut into the lead.

Connor Doyle deflected in a shot from Nick Roberts and an assist from junior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.).

Junior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) earned the victory in the net on Saturday.
