DE PERE, Wis. – The CUW ACHA hockey team traveled to St. Norbert to take on the Green Knights on Friday night.
The Falcons posted their first conference victory of the season with the 3-1 win over the Green Knights.
The Falcons scored in all three periods netting their first just three minutes into the game. Junior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.) scored the first of the game with an assist from junior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.)
St. Norbert tied up the game in the second minute of the second period, but the Falcons came down the ice and scored what was the winning goal 30 seconds later. The winning goal was scored by freshman Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) with assists from sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) and senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.)
The Falcons scored an insurance goal in the third period off the stick of Swiatek with assists from Sherman and Garrett Wilderman.
The trio of Swiatek, Garrett Wilderman, and Sherman tied for a game-high two points.
Junior Ian Robertson (Calgary, Alta.) recorded 36 saves in the outing.
The Falcons return to home ice on Saturday when they face off against the Green Knights once again.
