Falcons Fall in Florida

FORT MEYERS, Fla. – The CUW ACHA hockey team dropped the first of its two road games against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.

The Falcons lost the rematch of the ACHA Division II National Tournament matchup.  The game saw a final score of 1-3.

The Falcons scored first, striking in the 14th minute of the first period off the stick of sophomore Nick Roberts (Milwaukee, Wis.).  Roberts was assisted by senior Wyatt Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and freshman Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.).

This would be the only Falcon goal in a game that saw three unanswered from the Eagles.

The matchup saw only two total penalties, one for each team.

Junior, goalie Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) posted 33 saves on the outing.

The Falcons return to the ice as they face the Eagles one more time on Saturday.
