ACHA Hockey Season Preview

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons ACHA Division II men's hockey team is primed for an explosive season this year coming off a solid last season that saw them make the ACHA Division II National Tournament for the first time in program history.

The Falcons are returning key starters as well as brining in new talent to put their roster on track for another record season.

Of the returners, junior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) stands out.  Sherman finished the year as the Falcon's first ACHA Division II All-American.  He was one of 12 selected to the team and one of six chosen for All-American First team status.

In addition to this, the Falcons are bringing in five new freshmen to round out the 2021-22 roster.

The Falcons also added new staff to the team in head coach Shea Klitzke.  Shea is a former CUW student-athlete competing on the hockey, football, and golf teams in his time as a Falcon.  Along with Klitzke, the Falcons added some familiar faces in the form of assistant coaches.  Former goalie Dakota Delbridge and forward Jonathon Grodzki were added as assistant coaches for the upcoming season.

The Falcons are scheduled to compete in 33 games in the 2021-22 regular season. CUW has 15 home games on the calendar. Five of the Falcons' opponents on the schedule competed in the 2021 ACHA Division II National Tournament in Florida Gulf Coast, Marian, Lindenwood, Aurora and Adrian.

The team is set to get started on Sept. 17 at home against Lake Superior State.
