NORMAL, Ill. – The CUW ACHA hockey team traveled to Illinois State to take on the Redbirds in a weekend road series.
The Redbirds struck first notching two goals in the first two periods.
The Falcons scored two back-to-back to tie the game in the third period. Both of the Falcon goals came off of the stick of sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.). Freshman Nolan Judge (Glendale, Ariz.) would snag an assist on both goals.
The Redbirds scored the game-winner in the 15th minute of the third period to finish the game with a score of 2-3.
Junior Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) posted 30 saves in the outing.
The Falcons return to the same ice to take on the Redbirds once again on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
