Falcons Take Conference Win Against DePaul

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW ACHA team took on the DePaul Blue Demons in their first ACHA Division II matchup of the new year.

The Blue Demons struck first in the second minute of the first period.

The Falcons didn't wait too long to even up the game with a goal in the fifth minute off the stick of junior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.). He was assisted by senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) and junior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.). The goal was scored on a power-play off of a Blue Demo boarding penalty.

The Falcons decided to score another goal seven minutes later. Junior Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.) scored the Falcons' only, even-strength goal of the game to take the 2-1 lead. He was assisted by senior Ethan Natzke (Ballwin, Minn.).

The Falcons never looked back with another power-play goal in the second period which ended up being the winning goal. The goal was scored by Scott Gregor with assists from Williams as well as Wyatt Wilderman again.

The Blue Demons scored in the ninth minute of the second period and cut the deficit to one, but were not able to catch up to the Falcon attack.

The Falcons look to use this momentum Saturday when they take on the Blue Demons again inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.
