NACC Tournament Champions!

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Volleyball program won the NACC Tournament Championship for the first time in program history on Saturday night with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21) victory over Aurora inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin edged Aurora in the first two sets by scoring the final two points to control the NACC Tournament Championship match. The Spartans fought back with a third set victory, but the Falcons were dominant in the final frame to capture its first tournament title in program history and receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
- The hosts put together a strong fourth set, which featured a .303 attack percentage (14K-4E-33). The Falcons also recorded 13 total blocks in the match to make a difference with their defense at the net.
- It was close throughout with 34 scoring ties and 10 lead changes in the back-and-forth contest between the top seeded teams in the NACC. Concordia Wisconsin broke a 20-20 tie in the fourth set by scoring three-straight points to put Aurora on the edge of ending its season. The Spartans received a kill by Peyton McKenzie to get within 23-21, but a Megan Mayer kill and a bad set pushed the Falcons to jubilation.
- Junior Kaily Moegenburg (Plymouth, Wis.) led all player with 18 kills, to go along with 12 digs and five total blocks (one solo).
- Freshman Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) had 12 kills, five digs and two blocks assists, while senior Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) connected on 28 kills. Sophomore Mackenzie Wockenfus (Appleton, Wis.) recorded her second double-double of the season with 19 assists and a career-high 10 digs.
- Defensively, sophomore Lindsey Casper (Hubertus, Wis.) the team with 15 digs and junior Lauren Nevinski (New Berlin, Wis.) had nine block assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It was the third time the Falcons reached the NACC Tournament Championship match, but the first time they are taking home the trophy.
- Nevinski's nine blocks are tied for the fifth most in a match in program history. She also moved into a tie for fourth on the single-season blocks list by a Falcon.

THE OPPOSITION
- Katie Vondra and Alexis Hammond each had 14 kills, respectively, and Emily Lines posted 40 assists and 12 digs. Vondra also had 17 digs for a double-double.
- Sara Marinez tallied 17 digs and Rachel Martens recorded three block assists.
