Volleyball clinches share of NACC regular season title, No. 1 seed

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin continues to impress this season and as a result of Friday night's 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-8) victory over Alverno, has clinched a share of the NACC regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin put another check in the win column and advanced its NACC record to a perfect 10-0 this season. They are the lone undefeated team in the league and have a chance to finish undefeated with a victory on Saturday at Rockford.
- The Falcons hit an outstanding .373 (34K-9E-67A) in the match and served 14 service aces. They also limited the Inferno to a dismal -.109 attack percentage (12K-18E-55A).
- The hosts jumped all over the Inferno and ran out to a 13-2 lead midway through the opening set and never looked back before winning 25-8.
- Four scoring ties and three lead changes occurred in the second stanza. Concordia Wisconsin put together a 12-3 scoring run in the middle of the set to overtake a 6-5 deficit and own all momentum prior to winning 25-14 and taking a 2-0 lead in the matchup.
- A 10-0 scoring run to end the third set gave the Falcons a 25-8 win and their 15th sweep of the season.
- Sophomore Ashley Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) had a match-best nine kills, while nine of her teammates recorded at least a kill in the victory.
- Senior Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) posted 14 assists and sophomore Mackenzie Wockenfus (Appleton, Wis.) added 11 assists of her own.
- Freshman Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) was dialed in on the service with five aces and Klotz tallied a trio of service aces.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin could become the eighth NACC program to win the regular season title with an undefeated record following Saturday's potential win at Rockford.
- Klotz continues to climb closer to the coveted 2,000 assist milestone and now has 1,986 in her career. She could become the fourth player in program history to reach the plateau.
- Mayer's five service aces are tied for the eighth most in a single match in program history.

THE OPPOSITION
- Melissa Weyand paced the Inferno with five kills, while Sam Korn had 10 assists.
- Alyssa Reinke dug five attack attempts.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons travel to Rockford for a 6 pm match with a chance to become the NACC regular season outright champions with an undefeated record.
