Jehlicka records triple-double, Falcons stay unblemished in NACC play

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin took care of business on Saturday afternoon to remain atop the NACC standings with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 26-24) win over Lakeland inside the R. John Buuck Field House. Ashley Jehlicka recorded her first triple-double of the season and the Falcons are the last remaining undefeated team in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The offense is starting to come alive, while defense remains strong for Concordia Wisconsin during its fourth-straight sweep in league play. The Falcons had three players with double-digits kills and five with double-figure digs.
- Neither team could put together a scoring run in the opening set, as the largest lead was five points late by Lakeland. However, at the time the Falcons were ahead 23-18 and would go on to win the frame 25-20 and strike first.
- Following a 9-all tie in the second set, Concordia Wisconsin smashed four kills and took advantage of a Lakeland attack error to game some momentum. After successive Muskie points, the Falcons scored four-straight to go in front 18-11 and control the set. Concordia Wisconsin would take the second set, 25-16, and lead 2-0 in the match.
- Concordia Wisconsin had to work hard late in the third frame, breaking a 20-20 to go ahead 23-21 and then holding off a Lakeland rally with three-straight points. The Falcons had a pair of kills and capitalized on a Muskie error to earn the 3-0 victory.
- Sophomore Ashley Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) ended the win with 10 kills, 13 assists and 12 digs; to go along with two block assists.
- Freshman Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led the Falcons with 11 kills and hit .429 (11K-2E-21A), while junior Kaily Moegenburg (Plymouth, Wis.) smashed 10 kills.
- Senior Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) posted 22 assists and 11 digs, while sophomore Lindsey Casper (Hubertus, Wis.) had 18 digs and five assists.
- Moegenburg and Mayer had 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin has a seven-match winning streak dating back to last season, with seven of those resulting in a 3-0 decision.
- The Falcons have hit above .200 as a team in three of their last four matches. They recorded a .218 hitting percentage (46K-17E-133A) against Lakeland.
- Mayer's 11 kills and 11 digs were both career highs.
- Freshman Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) recorded a season-best three block assists.

THE OPPOSITION
- Brittini Scoles led all players with 12 kills and Madison Schwitzer recorded a match-best 29 assists.
- Taylor Levitt was one of three Muskies to have double-figure digs with 16.
