HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was really only close in the second set and the rest of the match was all Concordia Wisconsin, as they stayed undefeated and won three in a row in sweeping fashion.
- The Falcons jumped out to their largest lead of the match, nine points midway through the opening set, and controlled play up until that point. The Eagles would get to four points, but it wasn't enough of a run to threaten the visitors before Concordia Wisconsin won 25-18 and won the opening set.
- Thirteen scoring ties and three lead changes highlighted the second stanza. What has been the story all season, the Falcons gutted out points when they needed them the most and scored three-straight to overcome a deficit. Following a Concordia Wisconsin service error to fall behind 26-25; they smashed a kill, took advantage of a Benedictine attack error and hammered the final point to win 28-26 and take a 2-0 lead in the contest.
- The final set of the evening was the easiest for the Falcons, minus the early scare the Eagles threw their way. Finding themselves down 10-1, Concordia Wisconsin clawed its way back into the frame by going on a 12-2 scoring run to go ahead 13-12. Benedictine answered with three points, but it didn't matter because they couldn't slow down the Falcons, who ended on a 12-4 scoring run to win.
