LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team closed a hot weekend at Lake Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons tied the Foresters to a 1-1 draw to move to 1-0-1 on the young season.
The Foresters threw the first punch on Saturday with a goal in the seventh minute.
The Falcons leveled the match with some pressure in the 51st minute. Sophomore Brie Rozmiarek (West De Pere, Wis.) started the attack on the net with a shot on the frame with senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) scoring 10 seconds later off an assist from freshman Lanie Czerkies (Joliet, Ill.).
Junior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) posted five saves in the tie.
The Foresters held a 17-8 advantage in shots on Saturday. Selena Esten led the birds with six shots and two on goal.
The Falcons will get some rest before the home opener on Wednesday against Wisconsin-La Crosse.
