Women's Soccer Picks Up Tie at Marian

Written by CUW Student Assistant Lance Schulteis

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team notched a tie with the Marian Sabres, stealing a win from their conference foes with a goal in the 82nd minute to knot the score. The match pushed the Falcons' record on the season to 4-6-3 on the season and 3-4-2 in conference play.

Marian junior Abby Larson registered the lone score for the Sabres, scoring in the 21st minute off of an assist from Emily Gordillo.

The ball would remain out of either net for most of the game afterward, as Concordia sought to put the ball past the goal line to even the score. Despite registering 15 shot attempts, it was only late in the game that the Falcons got the goal they needed. In the 82nd minute, sophomore Brei Rozmiarek (West De Pere, Wis.) scored off of assists from junior Isabella Rapp (Grafton, Wis.) and sophomore Autumn Snow (Cedarburg, Wis.).

Rozmiarek led the Falcons in shot attempts with three, and junior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) registered six saves in the match.

The Falcons' next contest will be at Concordia Stadium, home of the 2-10-2 Concordia University Chicago Cougars on Saturday, October 14.
