Seven named to MWLC All-Academic Team

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Lacrosse placed student-athletes on the 2014 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference All-Academic Team, the league office announced. A total of 89 student-athletes were named to the MWLC All-Academic Team.

A MWLC All-Academic Team is selected at the conclusion of each academic year. The honor is given to student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To be named to the all-academic team, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Senior Breanne Geipel (Hartland, Wis.) completed her collegiate career with a 3.79 grade point average. The senior played two seasons for the Women's Lacrosse team and accumulated 12 points in 32 career games.

Senior Aly Pinkos (South Milwaukee, Wis.) ended her senior year with a 3.76 cumulative grade point average. She had a career season with 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) and 24 ground balls.

Junior Hayley Peppers (Franktown, Colo.) continues to excel in the classroom with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. She led the nation with a 7.35 ground balls per game average and also ranked third nationally with a 5.41 draw control wins per game average.

Junior Gabrielle VanBeaver (Green Bay, Wis.) has a 3.74 cumulative grade point average and will forego her senior season to concentrate on her degree. The junior shined on both ends of the field and had eight points (six goals, two assists) and 26 ground balls.

Sophomore Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) ended her sophomore campaign with a 3.66 cumulative grade point average. She was named All-MWLC Second Team as a defender after picking up 50 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers.

Sophomore Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) has a 3.57 cumulative grade point average and was named All-MWLC Second Team as a defender. She elevated her game and recorded seven points (four goals, three assists), picked up 26 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers.

Freshman Veronika Metanova (Palatine, Ill.) completed her rookie year with a 3.91 cumulative grade point average. She was named All-MWLC Second Team as a goalkeeper after ranking 27th nationally with a .498 save percentage.
