Falcons Women's Basketball Pack Season with Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – Falcons finished third in the NACC North Division, after NACC tournament berth.  The Falcons claimed two All-NACC honors as well as two academic honors.

The Falcons ended their season at 6-4 in the conference which landed them third in the NACC North Division for the 2020-21 season.  The Falcons went on a hot streak in the middle of February winning four games in a row to bring in three conference wins.

The Falcons were led by senior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) in a couple of statistics.  She led in total points scored with 238, three-pointers made and attempted shooting 27-84 from deep, and both free throws made and attempted netting 67 out of 89 attempts.  Not only did she lead the team in categories, but she also led the division in total points, free throws made, and minutes played.  She also netter her 1,000th point in a 70-24 victory over Alverno that saw Chambers score 19.

Senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) along with Clara Chambers secured an All-NACC honor.  Hafemann led the NACC in three-point percentage draining 48.6 percent of her attempts.  She was also second in free-throw percentage in the NACC with 89.5 percent draining 34 free throws in the conference.  Off the court, Hafemann grabbed both CoSIDA Academic All-District as well as Academic All-American honors for her work in the classroom.  Her 4.00 GPA in nursing helped propel her into these honors.

On January 16, Coach Stacey Brunner-Jones recorded her 300th career victory in a 57-45 win over the Raiders of MSOE.

The Falcons' highest point total in a win came against Lake Forest on senior day that saw senior Hannah Boettcher (Columbus, Wis.) bring in 12 rebounds with eight points and junior Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) put up 13-6-4.  Off the bench, sophomore Lindsey Smitsdorff added 14 more points to the total.

The Falcons are eager to get back into the fieldhouse and cannot wait to get back to action.
