Falcons Soar on Senior Day

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's basketball team celebrated senior day on Saturday afternoon and soared against the Foresters of Lake Forest. The Falcons improve to 8-3 on the year with an 81-37 victory.

The Falcons jumped out to a 23-8 advantage after the first quarter. Senior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) led the flock with nine points in the first quarter.

The Blue and White continued to pour it on the Foresters in the second quarter and led 49-19 at halftime.

Clara Chambers drained a three-point basket to open the third quarter to become the program leader in career three-point baskets.

The Falcons as a team were blazing hot from behind the arc on Saturday with an 11 baskets landing. Chambers landed six of the 11.

CUW added to the lead in the fourth quarter with an 18-5 advantage.

Clara Chambers led all scorers with 29 points. Sophomore Lindsey Smitsdorff (Coon Rapids, Minn.) scored 14 points off the bench and junior Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.) added 13 points.

Senior Hannah Boettcher finished with 12 rebounds and six assists in the victory.

The Falcons resume NACC play on Tuesday night against Edgewood.
