FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The CUW women's basketball team secured the weekend sweep over the Marian Sabres on Saturday night with a 72-56 victory. The victory propels CUW to 6-3 on the season and 4-2 in the NACC.
The Falcons used an 11-0 run in the first quarter to take the lead and never looked back from there. Senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) scored five of the points in the run. The Falcons led 24-17 after 10 minutes.
The Blue and White extended upon the lead in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 38-28 lead.
The Falcons kept their foot on the peddle in the third quarter, anchored by seven points from junior Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.). Szolyga also scored five of Concordia's 12 points in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory.
Senior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) led the flock with 20 points on Saturday. She also had a game-high five assists.
CUW also had three others score double-digit points in Camryn Szolyga at 16, sophomore Regan Obry (Neenah, Wis.) at 13 and Emily Hafemann with 12.
The Falcons look to push their winning streak to three on Tuesday against Alverno.
