FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The CUW women's basketball team returned to a winning record in NACC play with a 72-53 victory to improve to 3-2 in the NACC.
The Falcons and Sabres battled in a high-scoring first period, where the Sabres led 20-19 after 10 minutes. Senior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) had eight points.
The Blue and White got some separation in the second quarter with a 16-8 advantage. Where senior Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) scored six of the 18 points.
The Sabres cut into the lead after the third quarter, but the Falcons ran by the Sabres with a 19-4 advantage in the fourth quarter. Anchored by six points from junior Camryn Szolyga (Waukesha, Wis.).
The senior duo of Chambers and Hafemann both finished with 17 points, while Szolyga followed behind with 16 points.
The Falcons look for the sweep on Saturday.
