Men's Lacrosse represented well in final NCAA statistical rankings

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Men's Lacrosse program finished in the top 10 nationally in several NCAA Division III statistical categories. The Falcons also finished the year with the most wins in program history and set numerous records as a team and by several individuals.

CUW ranked second in the country for man-up offense, scoring on 50.7 percent (38-of-75) of its attempts. They scored multiple man-up markers in 11 games this season, including a program record seven man-up tallies during a home victory over Alma College on March 29. The Falcons also ranked second in shot percentage (.367) and shot over .350 in nine games this season.

They finished the 2014 campaign ranked sixth nationally, averaging 9.67 assists per contest. In eight different games, they had double-digit assists, including a program record 18 helpers in three victories (Dubuque – March 1; Hanover – March 22; Fontbonne – April 12). CUW set the single season program record for assists with 174, surpassing the old record set last season by nearly 60 assists.

The Falcons had a high powered offense this season and ranked seventh in the country with a 23.78 points per game average. They had over 30 points in seven games this season, all of which were wins. CUW set the program's single season record for points with 428, which eclipsed the previous mark by over 100 points.

Getting in front of opponents early and keeping the foot on the gas pedal was no problem for the Falcons, thus their eighth place national rankings for scoring margin (7.44). In eight contests they defeated the opposition by double-figures, including the program's fifth shutout, a 22-0 thumping of Defiance College on April 26.

The highest ranked individual for CUW was sophomore Danny Bundra (Lake Zurich, Ill.) who was 71st in the country with a 5.67 ground balls per game average. He picked up over six ground balls in nine games as the team's faceoff specialist.
