Dahms scores six goals, Men's Lacrosse edges Adrian on the road

ADRIAN, Mich. – Danny Dahms scored a career-high-tying six goals to help Concordia University Wisconsin edge Adrian College, 11-10, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening Docking stadium.

Dahms scored back-to-back goals twice and tallied his sixth score to give the Falcons a 10-8 lead with six minutes remaining in the contest. The Bulldogs responded with a pair of scores to tie the game at 10-10, but it was Peter Morton's (senior, Albany, Ga.) game-winner with 1:12 to play that was the difference.

CUW completed a difficult four-game stretch in seven days unscathed. They have now won five games in a row. The Falcons are the first program from the Midwest Lacrosse Conference to defeat the Bulldogs.

There were five lead changes and five scoring ties in the back-and-forth affair between the former conference rivals. CUW (6-2) was overmatched in nearly every statistical category, but took advantage of its limited opportunities.

AC (4-2) held a 34-17 lead in ground balls, won 18-of-25 faceoffs, and cleared 10-of-10 chances. CUW ended with 13 successful clears and two man-up scores, both by Dahms.

Dahms (senior, Calgary, Alberta) finished with eight points, which is tied for the third-most in program history. His six goals were one shy of tying the program record. Senior Sam Wladyka (Winnipeg, Manitoba) ended with two goals, while three other Falcons found the back of the net. Freshman Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) also dished out a career-best two assists.

Defensively, sophomore Danny Bundra (Lake Zurich, Ill.) picked up four ground balls and goalkeeper Thomas Mueller (Prior Lake, Minn.) made a career-best 15 saves, which is tied for second-most all-time in a CUW game. Mueller also had three ground balls.

The Bulldogs were led by Mitch Burgin who tallied four goals and assisted on two scores, while Tom Thielman had a hat trick. Eric Fannell finished with two markers and an assist. Drake Dailey-Chwalibog picked up a game-high eight ground balls and Lido Aldini caused three turnovers.

CUW returns to action on Saturday for its third-straight non-conference game against Alma College at 1 p.m. at Fitting Field.
