Men's Lacrosse has nine players earn All-MLC honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin had nine players earn All-Midwest Lacrosse Conference accolades, as voted on by the league's head coaches which the league office announced Monday.

Danny Bundra and Christopher Grenz led the Falcons with All-MLC First Team honors. Derek Brueske, Danny Dahms, Justin Krause and Thomas Mueller earned All-MLC Second Team accolades. Sam Wladyka, Matt Larsen and Kyle Burrell were named All-MLC Honorable Mention, while Mueller was CUW's MLC All-Sportsmanship Team honoree.

Bundra (sophomore, Lake Zurich, Ill.) led the MLC with 234 faceoff wins, including 143-of-217 (.659) during league play. He was also second with 102 ground balls in all games played and had 62 ground balls during conference play. The faceoff specialist ranks 32nd nationally in faceoff win percentage at .622.

Grenz (junior, Centennial, Colo.) played in 11 games and made nine starts as a defender. He picked up 24 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers. He picked up multiple ground balls in eight games and caused three or more turnovers in a trio of contests.

Brueske (junior, Hopkins, Minn.) was second on the team with 25 assists and fourth with 26 goals. He ranked 10th in the MLC in all games played and fifth in conference games for assists. The midfielder also picked up 14 ground balls and scored four man-up markers. He netted a goal in 13-of-18 games played and assisted on a score in 13 contests, including a streak of 12 straight to begin the season.

Dahms (senior, Calgary, Alberta) was the team's leader in points (62), goals (35), assists (27) and man-up scores (10). The midfielder recorded a hat trick in seven games and had multiple assists in seven contests. He also picked up 20 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers. Dahms tied the program record for man-up goals with three in a home victory late in March.

Krause (senior, Hartland, Wis.) started all 18 games as a midfielder and ended the season with 34 points (21 goals, 13 assists). He picked up 37 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers. The 5-foot-9 righty ended the season with a goal in nine-consecutive games and had multiple ground balls in 11 contests.

Mueller (sophomore, Prior Lake, Minn.) took over the starting goalkeeping duties in late March and led the MLC in goals against average (4.82) and save percentage (.667). He was also fourth in wins with six during league play. Mueller made double-digit saves in five games, including 15 saves three times which is the second most in a game, and picked up 27 ground balls throughout the season. He also represented CUW on the All-MLC Sportsmanship Team.

Wladyka (senior, Winnipeg, Manitoba) ranked fourth in the MLC for shooting percentage (.667), sixth in goals (24), eighth in man-up goals (five) and ninth in assists (33). He was third on the team with 47 points and tied for the team lead with 35 goals from the attack position. Wladyka set the program's single game record for points (10) and goals (eight) in the regular season finale.

Larsen (junior, Gurnee, Ill.) was sixth in MLC play with five man-up goals as an attacker. He finished the year with 40 points (29 goals, 11 assists), 24 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Larsen had a team-best 14-game scoring streak, to go along with an assist in nine contests.

Burrell (senior, Calgary, Alberta) started all 18 games played as a long-stick midfielder for the Falcons. He led the team 25 caused turnovers and was second with 86 ground balls. Burrell also scored five times and had six assists. He picked up 14 ground balls and caused six turnovers, both rank second in program history, in the regular season finale.

CUW's nine players on the All-MLC teams is tied for the most in program history.
