Dahms ties points record, Men's Lacrosse cruises past Hanover

MEQUON, Wis. – Danny Dahms tied the program record for points in a game and Concordia University Wisconsin cruised past Hanover College, 24-10, on Saturday at Fitting Field during Midwest Lacrosse Conference action.

Dahms' career-high nine points (four goals, five assists) tied the program record for points in a game, which was previously set on April 23, 2011 by Cody Chassels. Dahms (senior, Calgary, Alberta) was also one assist shy of tying the single game record.

CUW tied two single game records as a team with 18 assists and five man-up scores. The Falcons finished with a 32-22 shots on goal advantage and tallied 11 goals in the fourth quarter (which also tied a record) to blow the game wide open.

The Falcons (4-2, 3-0 MLC) scored five-consecutive goals to open the game before the Panthers tallied two of the next three markers. CUW put together five more tallies to take a commanding 11-2 halftime lead.

After the intermission, HC made the game interesting during the third period by cutting its deficit to 13-9 after recording three-straight man-up scores. A CUW timeout with 2:39 left in the period allowed head coach Michael Fahey to regroup his team for an important scoring barrage in the final quarter.

The Falcons flexed their muscles with a program-record-tying 11 goals in the final 15 minutes of play, three of which were of the man-up variety. CUW finished with 42 points in the league win.

Senior Justin Krause (Hartland, Wis.) tied a career-high with six points (four goals, two assists), while junior Matt Larsen (Gurnee, Ill.) netted a career-best two man-up scores. Senior Peter Morton (Albany, Ga.) had a career day with four assists and freshman Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) helped the Falcons offensive attack with a career-high five points (four goals – two man-up – one assist).

Senior Sam Wladyka (Calgary, Alberta) also finished with a hat trick and junior Derek Brueske (Hopkins, Minn.) ended with three assists. Sophomore Danny Bundra (Lake Zurich, Ill.) won 18 faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls.

Junior Emmet O'Malley (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) earned the win between the pipes after saving 12 shots on goal.

The Panthers (7-2, 3-1 MLC) were led by Nick Hermes, Josh Green and Zac Cheatle who each had two goals. Frank Vest added a goal, two assists, six ground balls and caused two turnovers.

CUW continues its difficult stretch of four games during a seven-day span with a Monday non-conference contest at Olivet College. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. CDT.
