Women’s Tennis Collects ITA Academic Honors
MEQUON, Wis. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2021 Division III Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams.
In 2021, 1048 Division III student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The Blue and White landed six selections in freshman Hannah Baneck (Watertown, Wis.), junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.), freshman Anika Czekala (Manitowoc, Wis.), junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.), freshman Auden Pearson (Kaukauna, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.).
Ricki Budewitz is claiming the honor for the third time and Jennifer Mies is doing so for the second-straight year.
The Falcons also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors during the 2020-21 season. They were one of 144 teams to claim the honor.
Concordia Wisconsin is the lone NACC school to earn either an ITA Scholar-Athlete or All-Academic Team honor.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements, have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements, have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
