Women’s Tennis rallies to overtake Illinois Tech

CHICAGO, Ill. – The CUW women's tennis team handed Illinois Tech its first loss of the season with a come-from-behind victory on Sunday. The Falcons came back to win, 5-4, to improve to 5-4 on the year and 2-0 in NACC play.

The Falcons earned a doubles point at No. 2 doubles with an 8-6 victory by freshman Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) and junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.).

The Scarlet Hawks pushed the Falcons to the brink of defeat with victories on courts one and two before CUW turned the tables.

Junior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) started the comeback with a come-from-behind victory over Allyson Trang at No. 3 singles, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

Junior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) cruised past Manon Tesche at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Jennifer Mies tied the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ramya Nissankula at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2.

Mallory Moen clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 victory over Mouna Chahin to send the Falcons home with the victory.

CUW will resume its match with Wisconsin Lutheran on Monday.
