Women’s Tennis extinguishes the Stars

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons soared in the final home contest of the regular season on Saturday. The Blue and White took care of business and protected home court with a 9-0 victory over Dominican. CUW improves to 9-4 on the year and 6-0 in the NACC.

Junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) swept the Stars at No. 1 doubles, 8-0.

Junior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) also picked up an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Jordana Burkeland (Oregon, Wis.) and freshman Auden Pearson (Kaukauna, Wis.) picked up an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Ricki Budewitz made quick work of Sharon Neiza at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Mia Andrae hammered Julia Hochstatter at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Jennifer Mies brought out the broom on court three with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Stephanie Anhalt.

Elizabeth Johnson was leading 3-0 before Jacqueline Candelas walked away with a retirement of the match.

Jordana Burkeland broke Alyssa Fahner at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Auden Pearson closed the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Cali Carlson at No. 6 singles.

The Falcons travel to Lakeland on Sunday and can clinch a first-round bye in the NACC Tournament with a victory.
