Women’s Tennis Bows Out of the NCAA Tournament

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team competed in the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Falcons fell short in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to Wisconsin-Whitewater, 5-0.

In doubles play, the Falcons put up the biggest fight with junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) at No. 1 doubles, but the birds fell, 8-4.

Junior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.) took two games from the Warhawks at No. 2 doubles.

At No. 3 doubles, junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) and freshman Jennifer Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) picked up three games from Whitewater.

UWW secured the match with victories on courts three and six.

Ashley Samuta and Mallory Moen both fought hard in the first set of their matches, but fell short, 4-6.

The Falcons finish the season at 12-6 and as NACC Tournament champions.
