Women’s Tennis Nipped on Saturday For NACC Title

MADISON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team fell short of the NACC title by one point on Saturday. The Falcons fell to Edgewood, 5-4, to finish the regular season at 10-5 and in second place in the NACC at 7-1.

The Falcons rolled on court one in doubles play with junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) picking up an 8-1 victory.

The Blue and White took a lead into singles play when junior Jennifer Mies (Brookfield, Wis.) and freshman Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) earned an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Jennifer Mies downed Lydia Dean at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

Mallory Moen defeated Alyssa Carew at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.

The Falcons will host the highest seed remaining during match on Friday afternoon.
