MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team closed the regular season with a convincing 9-0 victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Thursday evening. The Falcons closed the regular season with a 19-6 record.
The first point of the evening came at No. 3 doubles with senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) with an 8-2 victory.
The elite elderly duo of Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) cruised to an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman Sofia Buhr (Blumenau, Brazil) and senior Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) wrapped up doubles action with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Sofia Buhr blitzed Jordan Scharf at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Mia Andrae rocked Emma Rockweiler at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Ashley Samuta smashed Chloe Leithold at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Ricki Budewitz bashed Tristin Jantz at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 4 singles, Mallory Moen spoiled Maya Kunze's Concordia comeback with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Junior Peyton Morgan (Arlington Heights, Ill.) pounced on Jenna Carmean at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
The Falcons return to action next week against the lowest remaining seed in the NACC Tournament.
