
Women’s Tennis Tops Carthage
RACINE, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team improved to 2-2 on the season with a 7-2 victory at Carthage on Friday evening.
After falling at No. 2 doubles, the Falcons bounced back with an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles with freshman Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) and junior Ashley Saniter (Beaver Dam, Wis.).
Junior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and freshman Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) secured an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Junior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) drew first blood in singles play with a 6-1, 6-1, victory at No. 4 singles.
Junior Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis. then took care of business on court five with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Mallory Moen was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
Freshman Auden Pearson (Kaukauna, Wis.) picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
Ashley Samuta secured the final point of the night with a 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (7) victory at No. 2 singles.
The Falcons look to keep the positive momentum rolling into Sunday against St. Norbert.
