Women’s Soccer Burns the Record Book Against Alverno

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team stands alone in first place in the NACC after a 10-0 victory over Alverno on Saturday afternoon. The victory sends CUW to 9-2-0 on the year and 8-0-0 in the NACC.

Sophomore Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) started the scoring for the Falcons in the seventh minute off a corner play from junior Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.).

Junior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) scored the next three goals under a two-minute span to put the match out of reach.

Sophomore Anna Gong (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 16th minute off an assist to Jordan Lafferty.

Lafferty finished the match with three assists.

Freshman Katelyn Kaminski (Sussex, Wis.) started the second half scoring in the 51st minute off a pass from Gong. The goal was the first of her career

Junior Grace Wilshire (Pittsburgh, Pa.) found the back of the net in the 54th minute off a junior Caitlyn Kaelberer (Germantown, Wis.) pass.

Freshman Maya Bell (West Bend, Wis.) rang a shot past the Alverno keeper in the 56th minute for her first collegiate goal off an assist to Wilshire.

Kaminski recorded her second goal of the afternoon in the 65th minute off a pass from Grace Wilshire.

Wilshire closed the scoring in the 67th minute off an assist to Anna Gong.

The Falcons held a 76-0 shots advantage on Saturday. The 76 shots are a program record.

Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) secured the victory on Saturday afternoon.

MSOE defeated Dominican on Saturday so the Falcons stand alone in first place in the NACC standings.

CUW will host Marian on Wednesday before traveling to Dominican on Saturday.
