MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team opened the season with a 2-0 victory at Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon.

"It's great to get back out playing," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. "This is a great group with a great work rate.  We created many chances to score and our defense held strong. I am excited to see how we continue to grow and improve."

Junior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) opened the scoring with a goal in the 40th minute off an assist to junior Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.).

Esten connected with Lafferty again in the 55th minute for the second goal of the game.
