Women’s Soccer Smacks St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. – The Falcons welcomed St. Norbert into the NACC with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday night to improve to 6-1-0 on the season and to 5-0-0 in the NACC.

The Green Knights jumped out of the gate early and scored the first goal of the game in the fourth minute.

Junior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) leveled the match two minutes later on a breakaway and an assist to sophomore Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.).

In the 17th minute, junior Selina Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored from 15 yards out off of an assist from Haugland.

Senior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) started the second-half scoring in the 58th minute off a corner from junior Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.).

Selena Esten sank the final goal of the game in the 65th minute on a two-on-one breakaway with Karoline Haugland.

St. Norbert held a 15-12 advantage in shots on the night. Karoline Haugland led the effort with four shots.

Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) secured five saves in the victory.

The Falcons start their weekend tour of Illinois on Saturday at Rockford.
