Special Teams Silence CUW

MEQUON, Wis. – The weekend came to a close for the CUW women's hockey team on Saturday with a 5-1 loss to St. Norbert.

The Falcons struck first when senior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) went top shelf off an assist from senior Bela Noyle (Baltimore, Md.) last in the first period.

The Blue and White held onto the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The CUW goal snapped a five-game shutout streak that has lasted since Nov. 11 for the Green Knights.

The Green and Gold had two power-play goals in the second period and added three more goals, including another power-play goal in the third period.

The Falcons had their opportunities, with five power plays, but couldn't catch up.

St. Norbert held a 42-23 advantage in shots on Saturday.

Sophomore Amanda Bauer (Waunakee, Wis.0 led the attack with six shots.

Senior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) had 37 saves.

The Falcons look to bounce back on Friday against Finlandia.
