No. 11 Adrian overwhelms Men’s Hockey

MEQUON, Wis. – The No. 11-ranked Bulldogs took care of business on Friday night with a 6-3 victory against the Falcons. The loss sends CUW to 11-9-2 on the year and to 7-8-2 in the NCHA.

The Bulldogs bit the Falcons early with two goals in the first five minutes of play.

The visitors from Michigan added three more goals in the second period to add to the lead.

Sophomore Bo Didur (West Vancouver, B.C.) posted 23 saves in the start.

Junior Cole Pickup (Victoria, B.C.) scored on the penalty kill as he skated past the defender and threw the puck in the back of the net with assists to sophomore Thomas Dyball (Papillion, Neb.) and freshman Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.).

Alex Way then struck on the power play with a top-shelf shot. Senior Josh Adkins (Victoria, B.C.) and sophomore Luc Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) had the assists.

The Bulldogs added to the lead with a goal in the third period.

Junior Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.) closed the scoring with 13.9 seconds left off passes from junior Nick Guerra (Victoria, B.C.) and sophomore Cory Dennis (Madison, Wis.).

Sophomore Erik Schuette (Olathe, Kan.) had 15 saves in relief action.

The Bulldogs held a 43-23 shots advantage on Friday.

The Falcons will try to level the series on Saturday night.
