Men’s Hockey slaps St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. – The CUW offense clicked on Saturday in a 7-2 victory at St. Scholastica. The Falcons used four second-period goals to improve to 3-1-0 on the year and 2-0-0 in the NCHA.

Junior Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.) evened the game late in the first period, with a power-play goal. Junior Braydon Barker (Red Deer, Alta.) and senior Mac Ferner (Vernon, B.C.) assisted on the goal.

At the 5:28 mark of the second period, Luc Kreuser gave the Falcons the lead with a shot from passes from Braydon Barker and Mac Ferner.

St. Scholastica tied the game four minutes later, but it would be all CUW from there.

46 seconds later, Braydon Barker lit the light.

Brandon Picard closed the second-period scoring on the power play, with sophomore Luc Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) tallying the assist.

Junior Nick Guerra (Victoria, B.C.) closed the scoring, after freshman Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) fed him the puck in the final few minutes.

Sophomore Bo Didur (Victoria, B.C.) finished the game with 32 saves.

The Falcons defense killed off all three penalty kills on Saturday.
