Men’s Hockey rally falls short against St. Norbert

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team came up short against St. Norbert on Saturday, 5-4. The Falcons move to 5-4-1 and 2-3-1 in the NCHA.

The Falcons power play struck first with a goal from senior Josh Adkins (Victoria, B.C.) off a pass from sophomore Luc Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.).

The Green Knights leveled the game on the power play two minutes later.

Junior Braydon Barker (Red Deer, Alta.) gave the Falcons the lead at the 14:08 mark with sophomore Thomas Dyball (Papillion, Neb.) adding the assist.

St. Norbert closed the first period on a 2-0 run.

The Green and Gold extended the lead to 5-2 at the 8:23 mark of the second period.

Junior Nick Guerra (Victoria, B.C.) scored the next two goals, including one on the power play to cut into the SNC lead.

Junior Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.) and senior Dante Hahn (Victoria, B.C.) had the CUW assists on the final two goals.

In net, sophomore Bo Didur finished with 24 saves, while sophomore Erik Schuette (Olathe, Kan.) stopped all 16 shots in his first appearance of the year.

Both teams were two for three on the power play.

CUW closes 2019 on the road next Sunday at Saint John's.
